Peace of Mind Comes by Prayer

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) tell us to “be careful of nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

When you dissect this passage, what you are left with is an admonition and a promise.

We are told first to “be careful of nothing.”

In other words, do not worry, don’t ruminate.

Instead, we are told to ask with gratitude.

Genuine gratitude alone has the power to dispel fear and worry. Still, when we combine a real heart of gratitude with the relationship we have with the Father in prayer, we have a surefire success formula.

If we ask God for help with a heart of gratitude, we are assured that God Himself will give us peace of mind.

We have no reason to worry.

The God who created all that is around us with a spoken word is the same God we have asked for help.

This God will keep us at peace.

Our future is not in the cards or the stars.

Our future is in the hands of our almighty and all-loving God.

In the times in which we are living, it is so easy to be troubled.

When you feel fear creeping in, stop, and pray.

Thank Him for the gifts He has already given, and then ask for whatever your need may be.

Pray until His peace falls and rests upon you.

Your heart will be at peace when you pray, and your mind will rest easy, knowing that God is on the throne.

Much love
